What we collect and why
The booking form asks for your name, postcode, car details, contact information and preferred visit. You can also tell us about additional cleaning and access. We use this information to answer your request, prepare a quote and arrange the service. Please do not include information that is unnecessary for your visit.
We process enquiries to take steps at your request before entering a contract and to provide a service you book. We also have a legitimate interest in handling customer concerns and protecting the website from misuse. Records required by law are kept to meet those obligations.
Where your request is stored
Booking requests are saved in the website’s database, hosted with IONOS. Access to the booking inbox is restricted to CarTub. We attempt to send an email notification through the configured IONOS mail service to info@cartub.co.uk. The request is saved even if that notification cannot be delivered.
Our website and communication providers process information to operate their services. Depending on the provider, this can involve processing outside the UK; their applicable data protection terms and safeguards govern those transfers. We do not sell your information.
How long information is kept
Requests are available in the website inbox for 90 days. Older requests are removed by the maintenance task or during an inbox visit. If an enquiry becomes a booking, relevant correspondence and service records may be retained separately for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve any outstanding matter and meet legal record-keeping requirements. Information no longer needed for those purposes should be deleted.
A one-way, protected code derived from your network address is used to limit repeated form submissions. This code is removed after its rate-limiting period when the next request or maintenance check runs; your raw network address is not stored in the booking record. Hosting providers may hold their own technical security logs.
WhatsApp and telephone
WhatsApp links open WhatsApp. You decide whether to send the message, and WhatsApp’s privacy terms also apply. Telephone links start a call on a compatible device.
Cookies and website measurement
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Contact and form interactions do not send analytics to an external provider. The private booking inbox uses an essential secure session cookie for owner sign-in. If optional tracking is introduced, we will update this notice and provide any required consent controls first.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information, or object to processing. Contact CarTub using the details above. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
